OF INTEREST IN LESOTHO ELECRICITY CORPORATION (LEC) CONCESSION|

In response to advertisements which had been placed in various newspapers and journals as well as on the Internet, and in Lesotho Embassies abroad, inviting expressions if interest in the Lesotho Electricity Corporation by mid-day on Monday 24 May 2004, a total of ten (10) expressions of interest had been received by the advertised deadline. 2. The Sales Advisory Group which is assisting the Government of Lesotho in this phase of the restructuring of Lesotho Electricity Corporation through Privatisation Unit will be examining the expressions of interest on the basis of the advertised criteria, and will recommend a short-list of those firms which will be pre-qualified to bid for the concession to operate the company for twenty years.
